The bridge opened in the summer of 2019 – one year later than expected. 2017-09-22 In the summer of 2019, the city of Copenhagen was gifted a really impressive cycle and pedestrian bridge: the Lille Langebro. The 175m horizontal swing bridge has elegant curves and high finishing degree: a true piece of work! In order to Realdania By & Byg, Hollandia Infra and civil partner Mobilis Design & Construct realized this eye-catching bridge over Copenhagen’s waterfront. The bridge was officially inaugurated on August 14th 2019.

Buro Happold. November 11, 2020 · · Shorter bridges over 17th Century canals, such as Cirkelbroen (the Circle Bridge), and the Frederiksholm Canal bridge, help link almost the entire harbour. Designed by the Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson, Cirkelbroen opened in 2015 and fixed a minor, but important gap in the mobility network of Copenhagen. Air pollution is currently a problem for Copenhagen and, in a broader scale, has contributed to climate change. Langebro (Long Bridge) and the roads leading to it, are experiencing the worst of the city’s pollution due to the heavy volume of traffic this area endures daily.
